Men's Tennis Falls to UNW 7-2

RESULTS

OWATONNA, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team suffered its first conference loss this season by the final of 7-2 against Northwestern-St. Paul at Owatonna Tennis Center on Tuesday.

UNW dominated the doubles matches, taking an early 3-0 lead thanks to three wins by the scores of 8-1.

Joel Koelpin won his number four singles match in three sets, while Josh Schroeder added a straight sets win in number six singles, but the Eagles were able to win the other four matches in straight sets to secure the team win.

MLC fell to 3-5 on the season and 2-1 in UMAC play in defeat. UNW improved to 6-9 on the season and 1-0 in league play with the win.

The Knights are scheduled to return to action on Thursday, April 19, when they return to the Owatonna Tennis Center to host Minnesota Morris in a match scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
