Men Return to Action at Carleton Meet

RESULTS

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's track and field team was back at it on Saturday at an event hosted by Carleton College after a week off over Easter.

The Knights finished sixth at the event with a total of 44 points. Saint John's finished first with 209.5 points, followed by Gustavus (106) and Concordia-Moorhead (97) in the top three.

MLC had a number of its top finishes in the throwing events, where Caleb Foelske continued his strong season with three top-10 finishes. Foelske took third in the Shot Put (14.3 meters), eighth in the Discus (37.46 meters), and eighth in the Javelin (42.26 meters). He also finished 11th in the Hammer Throw (39.28 meters).

Gustav Wenz also had a strong day, taking third in the Javelin with a season-best throw of 48.37 meters, and also finished 17th in the Discus. Zachary Gregorius finished ninth in the Javelin with a throw of 41.64 meters.

In the jumping events, Eric Raasch took third in the Long Jump with a top jump of 6.02 meters, with Jonathan Holtz and Joseph Ehlke also finishing in the top 10 of that event. Ehlke would also add a fourth-place finish in the Triple Jump with a jump of 11.83 meters, with Seth Veers finishing just behind him in fifth place with a jump of the same distance.

On the track,Jonas Landwehr led the way in fourth place in the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 1:02.95. Caleb Lash and Camden Sulzle finished sixth and eighth, respectively, in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase.

Carson Oestreich took ninth out of 28 runners in the 100 Meters. Micah Schibbelhut took 11th out of 25 runners in the 400 Meters, with Cole Burow finishing behind him in 15th place. Josiah Loersch took 13th in the 1500 Meters, while Nathan Pausma finished 16th in a deep 800 Meters field. 

In the relay events, the Knights took fourth out of nine teams in the 4x100 Meters, and then finished eighth out of 17 teams in the 4x400 Meters.
