RESULTS
MORRIS, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men finished second at the UMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by University of Minnesota Morris (UMM) on Saturday.
MLC finished the two-day meet with a total of 182.5 points, breaking their previous high total at the event. UW-Superior took first place with a team score of 248.5 points, while UMM finished third with 96 points.
Carson Oestreich made it a clean sweep of the sprinting events over the weekend, backing up his 200 Meter Dash win on Friday with a first-place time of 10.76 in the 100 Meter Dash on Saturday. Oestreich also joined
Eric Raasch,
Cole Burow and
Jon Holtz to help the Knights take second in the 4x100 Meter Relay with a time of 44.34.
Oestreich finished the event with 22 points accounted for, tying him for eighth among all male athletes in the meet.
Caleb Foelske closed his career with a pair of third-place finishes in the Discus (39.63 meters) and Shot Put (14.93 meters), with his final throw in the Shot Put breaking his own school record by almost half of one meter.
On the track,
Micah Otto (16.3) and
Seth Veers (16.3) took third and fourth, respectively, in the 110 Meter Hurdles, with Otto crossing the finish line just 0.002 seconds before Veers for bragging rights. Veers finished sixth in the Triple Jump with a jump of 11.95 meters.
Caleb Lash (16:58.56) and
Ryan Maertz (17:16.46) finished fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 5000 Meters. Maertz also took eighth in the 1500 Meters, where
Joshua Zander (4:26.68) and
Josiah Loersch (4:29.32) finished in the top six.
Micah Schibbelhut (53.36) led four MLC runners in the top 10 in the 400 Meters in seventh place, followed by Raasch (53.92), Holtz (54.77) and
Nathan Pausma (56.11).
Benjamin Hillmer and
Lucas Martin tied for fourth place in the High Jump with jumps of 1.68 meters. Martin also finished seventh in the Triple Jump with a top jump of 11.62 meters.
