Becker, MN - The Martin Luther College men's golf team took fourth place for the second consecutive match on Thursday at the UMAC Preview. The Knights shared the fourth spot with rival, Bethany, at the Pebble Creek Golf Course. Both teams finished in 336 strokes (+48).
The men competed in a Par 72 and were one of the eight UMAC institutions to appear in the mid-season tournament. UW-Superior took first place as a team, completing the course with 305 strokes, barely edging out North Central (308).
Sam Hansen was once again the top individual golfer for MLC and finished in a tie for 16th with a score of 82 (+10). Freshman
John Martin followed close behind Hansen in a tie at 18, shooting an 83 (+11).
Luke Latzke also a solid day on the course for the Knights and shot a score of 84 (+12), while
Paul Frick was the fourth MLC golfer to finish within the top 30 overall, shooting an 87 (+15), which was good enough for a tie at 29.
Up next for MLC is a match in Waconia, MN on Tuesday, September 26. The match will be hosted by Crown College at Island View Golf Club.
