Men's Golf Takes Fourth Place at UNW Invite

St. Michael, MN - The Martin Luther College men's golf team played their third match of the 2023 season at Fox Hollow Golf Course on Tuesday morning. The Knights competed against fellow UMAC opponents in Bethany, North Central, Crown, Minnesota Morris, and the host school Northwestern. MLC would finish fourth out of the six teams with a score of 327 (+39) in the Par 72 course. North Central took first with a team score of 314 (+26).

Sam Hansen once again had an impressive showing, shooting a 76 (+4), which put him third overall out of 62 golfers. This marks the third match in a row to start the season with a top three finish for Hansen. 

MLC's next top finishers came from the freshman duo of Luke Latzke 82 (+10) and John Martin 84 (+12) who finished 16th and 23rd respectively among all male golfers.

Senior Paul Frick also found a spot in 25th with his score of 85 (+13).

The Knights will head back to the green on Thursday, September 7, at the New Ulm Country Club. There, MLC will face off against Bethany in the Wittenburg Cup.
