Box Score Owatonna, MN - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team lost a close match (5-4) on Wednesday to Bethany Lutheran College. The match was ultimately decided in No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, as the Vikings came out on top 8-7 in both over the duos of Josiah Koelpin/Elijah Schulz and Eli Stern/Brian Friesenegger.

The men picked up singles wins from Mathew Koelpin 7-5, 7-5 in the No. 3 spot, while Stern defeated his opponent 6-3, 6-2. Schulz (6-4, 7-5) took his No. 5 match and Friesenegger secured the Knights' fourth point with his victory 6-7, 6-4, 10-8 in the tiebreaker.

Up next for MLC (2-8, 0-2) is a UMAC match against UW-Superior on Sunday, April 21, at 1 p.m.
