Box Score Owatonna, MN - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team won their match against Bethany in dominant fashion, defeating the Vikings
9-0 on Wednesday. The Knights did not lose a set in either doubles or singles play, with the closest matchup coming in No. 1 doubles, where
Britney Prahl and
McKenzey Crowley held off for the 8-7 win.
Charis Glende and
Abigail Schewe cruised in No. 2 doubles 8-0, while
Katie Kutz and
Rebekah Schroeder won in No. 3 doubles 8-1. Glende bested her opponent 6-1, 6-1 in No. 3 singles, while Schewe won her No. 4 match 6-1, 6-3. With the pair of wins against Bethany, both players secured a team-high sixth win of the season overall.
Britney Prahl (6-2, 6-4) and
McKenzey Crowley (6-4, 6-2) sured up the top of the Knights' singles lineup, while
Rachel Schoeneck (6-3, 6-1) and
Katie Schoeneck (6-1, 6-1) completed the sweep in No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively.
With the win on Wednesday, the Knights have not lost a point in conference play through three matches played this season. MLC improves to 5-6 Overall, 3-0 UMAC this season and will play UW-Superior in search of their fourth conference win on Sunday, April 21, at 1 p.m.
