Box Score New Ulm, MN - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team topped Bethany Lutheran for a second time this season, beating the Vikings
8-1 on Wednesday.
The Knights previously swept the Vikings 9-0 last Wednesday, April 17 and had no issues in replicating a similar performance on the MLC tennis courts. The women took all three doubles matches with ease, including an 8-4 win at No.1 from
Britney Prahl and
McKenzey Crowley.
Charis Glende and
Abigail Schewe took their match 8-1, while
Katie Kutz and
Rebekah Schroeder claimed an 8-0 victory.
Prahl (6-3, 6-0) and Glende (6-1, 6-3) earned wins at No. 1 and 3 singles respectively, while Schewe finished off her No. 4 opponent 6-4, 6-2.
Rachel Schoeneck (7-5, 6-4) and
Katie Schoeneck (7-5, 6-1) won closely contested matches at No. 5 and No. 6.
The win for the Knights keeps them in second place in the UMAC standings and they will face Northwestern on Saturday, April 27. As of now, Northwestern sits behind MLC in third place and the two schools will face off with one another at 11 a.m. on the MLC tennis courts.
