Collegeville, MN - The Martin Luther College outdoor track and field teams opened up the 2025 season on Friday with a meet at Saint John's.
Notable MLC men's results
Stephen Wietzke and
Samuel Plocher led the way for the MLC men in today's meet as both of them had a first and second place finish. Wietzke took first in the 200-meter (22.19) and second in the 100-meter (11.06 seconds, PR), while Plocher placed first in the 110-meter hurdles (15.24 seconds) and second in the high jump (1.94 meters).
Daniel Ertman placed fifth in the 400-meter with a PR mark of 50.96 seconds as
Micah Schibbelhut (2:05.76) and
Ryan Schmidt (2:08.25) placed third and fourth, respectively in the 800-meter.
The 4x100-meter relay team broke the MLC outdoor school record set last year in May of 2024 with a new record time of 43.40 seconds (
Matthew Hillmer, Wietzke,
Lucas Holtz,
Arthur Robinson).
In the throwing events,
R.J. Perry earned a top-10 finish in the shot put with a mark of 13.39 meters. Meanwhile, Robinson placed third in the 200-meter (22.36 seconds) and fifth in the long jump (6.34 meters).
Notable MLC women's results
Sarah Felsing placed 15th out of 45 runners in the 1500-meter with a time of 15:16.36, while
Madelinn Romsdahl took 11th out of 45 throwers in the discus throw (34.84 meters).
Hannah Rodmyre took fourth in the triple jump (9.91 meters), while also earning seventh in the long jump with a mark of 4.72 meters.
Elena Brauer placed eighth in the high jump (1.50 meters).
