Lexington, KY - The Martin Luther College 2024 volleyball team was named to the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Team Academic Award list announced by the organization on Monday.

The AVCA Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT, recognizes volleyball teams that demonstrate excellence in the classroom by maintaining a cumulative team GPA of 3.30 on a 4.00 scale or higher. This award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors both collegiate and high school programs. In 2025, a record-breaking 1,450 teams received the award.

The Knights also earned the additional distinction of AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, representing the top 20% of GPAs nationally by division. The volleyball team had a cumulative team GPA of 3.804 for the entire academic year of 2024-25.
