Men's Soccer voted to finish seventh in UMAC Preseason Poll

St. Paul, MN - The 2025 UMAC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll came out on Tuesday and the MLC Knights were voted to finish in seventh, gaining five points.

The poll is voted on by all the head coaches in the conference. Coaches cannot vote for their own team. UW-Superior earned 36 votes (6 first-place) after winning their eighth consecutive UMAC tournament title a season ago.

Nick Schmoller will be the lone head coach for the men's team this season with Tim Grundmeier stepping down. Schmoller enters his fourth season at the helm of the Knights.

MLC brings back senior defender, Stephen Wietzke, who earned UMAC Honorable Mention last season as a junior. Joshua Krenke returns as a sophomore after leading the Knights offensively in goals (5) and points (11). Fellow sophomore Abraham Schlomer comes back at the forward spot and was second on the team in goals (3) and points (6) as a freshman.

The Knights open the season with a home game against Buena Vista at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 29.
