Northfield, MN - The MLC men's and women's indoor track & field teams opened up the 2026 season with the "Ole Opener" at St. Olaf College on Saturday. The Knights competed against four other UMAC schools along with multiple MIAC programs.

Notable Men's Results:

Robert (R.J.) Perry had a big first meet, breaking a pair of MLC Indoor records that he previously held in the shot put and weight throws. Perry heaved the shot put 13.98 meters for first place and took another top spot in the weight throw with a mark of 15.18 meters.

Samuel Plocher picked up where he left off the past two seasons as the junior earned first in the 60m hurdles (8.51 seconds) and T-2nd in the high jump with a mark of 1.94 meters.

Isaiah Durkee hit a PR in the weight throw, tossing it 14.40 meters for third place. Durkee also tied for sixth in the shot put at 11.88 meters. Camden Fager placed second in the 800-meter in his first college meet with a time of 2:09.89, while Micah Vanderhoof took fifth with a PR mark of 2:10.63.

Jeremiah Stanton placed sixth out of 37 runners in the 200-meter (23.65 seconds).

Notable Women's Results:

Jemimah Habben had the best finish of the meet for the MLC women. Habben ran the mile in 5:24.47 out of 15 runners in the event, while Sarah Felsing took fifth (5:43.21).

Elise Nolte had a couple of top-five finishes in the shot put (10.74 meters) and weight throw (13.37 meters PR). Madeline Romsdahl also claimed eighth in the shot put with a throw of 10.64 meters out of 37 throwers.

Hannah Rodmyre jumped 10.31 meters in the triple jump to take fourth in the event.

In the 400-meter, Naomi Foley (1:06.36) and Elise Schwartz (1:06.66) took seventh and eighth, respectively, in the race.

MLC Indoor Track and Field will be competing again next Saturday, January 24, at Macalester College.
