Box Score Winona, MN - The MLC men's tennis team began its 2026 season with its annual first match at Saint Mary's. The Knights fought hard in each contest, but the Cardinals defeated MLC 6-1.

St. Mary's claimed one point in doubles play and took five of the six singles matches for the victory. The lone point for the Knights came in the No. 5 match where Matthew Koelpin topped his opponent 6-3, 7-5.

Abraham Schlomer took his counterpart to the brink, falling in a tiebreaker 6-4, 2-6 (0-1) in No. 6 singles. No. 1 player Johannes Bourman was also competitive in his No. 1 contest, losing 5-7, 3-6.

MLC men's tennis will take on Cornell (IA) next Saturday, January 31, on the road at 9 a.m.
