Northfield, MN - The MLC men's and women's track and field teams were in action Saturday at the Carleton Meet of Hearts.
The Knights had two first-place finishes, with
Samuel Plocher taking the top spot in the High Jump, leaping 1.98 meters.
R.J. Perry shone once again in the shot put (15.57 meters), besting 30 throwers in the event. Perry also placed second in the weight throw (15.46 meters), which also had 30 throwers.
Isaiah Durkee took third in the shot put with a heave of 13.34 meters.
In the 200-meter,
Stephen Wietzke ran the race in 23.16 seconds for fifth place, while
Jeremiah Stanton (8th, 23.64 seconds) and
Lucas Holtz (9th, 23.68 seconds) finished in the top 10.
Kaden Hintz placed just outside the top-10 in 11th with a time of 23.91 seconds.
Additionally, Holtz
placed third in the 400m (53.17), while
Kaden Hintz came in sixth (54.11) out of 24 runners.
The 4x400m relay team also took third with a mark og 3:37.63, which included
Daniel Ertman, Holtz, Camden Fager, and Micah Schibbelhut.
The MLC women had multiple top-five results, with the 4x400m relay team taking second with a mark of 4:22.67
(Naomi Foley, Hannah Rodmyre, Sarah Felsing, Jemimah Habben).
Habben placed fourth out of 33 runners in the 1-mile run (5:20.24), and Felsing earned 11th in the race (5:38.55).
In the 400m, Foley came in fourth with a time of 1:04.80, and
Elise Nolte took fifth out of 35 throwers in the shot put (11.04m).
Madelinn Romsdahl took ninth in the weight throw out of 32 (12.88 meters) and 10th in the shot put (10.20 meters). Meanwhile,
Leah Domke placed 10th in the weight throw with a toss of 12.75 meters.
MLC Indoor Track and Field will be back at it on Friday, February 20, at Minnesota State.
