Collegeville, MN - The MLC men's and women's track and field teams began their outdoor season on Saturday at a meet hosted by Saint John's.
The Knights went up against tough competition as usual and held their own in numerous events.
From the women's side,
Hannah Rodmyre reached a personal best in the 100m hurdles with a mark of 16.34 seconds for fourth in the event.
Mariah Schultz took seventh in the 400m hurdles (personal best time of 1:11.43).Â
Elena Brauer placed sixth in the high jump (1.50 meters), while
Elise Schwartz clocked in at 28.07 in the 200m for 12th out of over 35 runners in the race. Meanwhile,
Jemimah Habben placed 10th out of almost 70 runners in the 1500m (4:58.86) for a personal best in the 1500m. Another 10th-place finish occurred for the Knights when
Grace Hahm ran the 800m for a personal best time of 2:27.98.
The MLC men had a top performer in
Jeremiah Stanton, who finished in the top 10 in multiple events, including the 110m hurdles (17.07, 6th), long jump (6.48m, 5th), and triple jump (14.05m, 3rd).
Arthur Robinson took fifth out of 54 runners in the 1500m with a mark of 4:21.34. Additionally,
R.J. Perry earned 11th out of over 50 throwers in the discus toss (40.36 meters), while placing sixth in the shot put with a throw of 14.08 meters. In long distance, sophomore
Eliott Heiderich took 14th out of 54 runners in the 1500m with a mark of 4:21.34.
MLC outdoor track and field will be in action again on Thursday, April 2, when they will participate in select events at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee.
