NEW ULM, Minn. – MLC women's soccer has been picked to finish sixth in the preseason coaches poll, the UMAC announced Monday.

Just four voting points separated fourth and sixth in what projects to be a tight race for the UMAC postseason tournament. 

Coach Tyson Zarnstorff's squad has plenty of experience heading into the 2026 season. The Knights return eight starters, including all four defenders and their goalkeeper.

Junior Ella Ristow and sophomore Ava Walz are two of the returning defenders. Ristow was voted first-team All UMAC last season and Walz was an honorable mention selection.

Senior Katie Schoeneck led the team with seven goals and 15 points last season. She has been selected to the conference's second team three times.

Alli Olson from Appleton, Wisconsin, highlights a talented freshman class. She was a two-time first-team and two-time second-team selection in high school playing for Luther Prep. 

Women's soccer gets its season underway on Sept. 1 at Buena Vista.
