Willie Wenz wins UMAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for 2nd time this season

St. Paul, MN - On Tuesday, Wilhelmina Wenz was voted the UMAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week (2/9-2/15) was one of four MLC student-athletes to be awarded UMAC Athlete of the Week, along with Adam Loberger, Gideon Heins, and R.J. Perry.

Despite MLC falling to Crown and Minnesota Morris this past week, Wenz showed up in each game. The sophomore finished with a double-double against Crown (11 points, 12 rebounds) to add to her breaking the MLC single-season record in rebounds (241). Wenz leads all UMAC players in rebounds per game (10.0) and scored a career-high 26 points against the Cougars on Saturday, knocking down six 3-pointers.

Wenz was previously voted UMAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week (1/26-2/1).

The Knights are in action against North Central on Wednesday, February 18, at 5:30 p.m. where they still have a chance at a spot in the UMAC Tournament with a win over the Rams.
